A community worth building — online, too.
The Gbi-Bla website is being put together. While the builders are at work, scroll to meet the community it will serve.
The northern gateway of the Volta Region
Gbi-Bla is the second largest of the nine divisions of the Gbi Traditional Area, on the northern frontier of Ghana’s Volta Region. Lying along the Eastern Corridor Road, it is a historic gateway between southern and northern Ghana.
Its people "the Awalime"trace their journey from southern Nigeria through Benin, Dahomey and Notsie to their home on the banks of the River Dayi. Today Gbi-Bla unites three areas Tsrivi, Blanyigbe and Bladzigbe, under the Overlord, Togbe Buami.
Grounded in culture, at peace with our neighbours
To be a culturally grounded community that enhances human well-being, lives in harmony with its neighbours and safeguards the environment.
Heritage, environment, education, opportunity
To promote Gbi-Bla as a healthy, culturally vibrant community by preserving our heritage, protecting our environment and strengthening education and economic opportunity through traditional governance and sustainable community enterprises.
